Episode #11: Birthday. You Ga Watashi Wo Mitsumeteru...

Birthday. You is watching me...

(Wow that picture looks awful but the majority of you have seen it before so it doesn't matter, oh well)

It's back to the slap incident... Miki can't believe what she had done. You tells her that since she had enough energy for that slap, she must be OK and he leaves her room, rubbing his cheek. Miki doesn't know what to do when she faces You because all he did was help her and she slapped him.

The next day in the kitchen, You comes in as she is drinking juice. He's in good spirits and he says, 'Hi' to her. Miki doesn't return his greeting and he asks what is wrong. Miki doesn't answer because she still doesn't know what to do. You says that if she stays like that all day, then he might as well make the 'Princess' breakfast (how cute). Miki watches TV silently. You's in the kitchen still calling her 'Princess' and that breakfast will be ready soon. Miki wonders why You didn't say anything about last night. The phone rings and it's Chiyako. She asks Miki if she could help her by wishing You a "Happy Birthday". She hangs up quickly.

You asks who it was. Miki tells him that it was Chiyako and that they want to wish him a "Happy Birthday". You's surprised that they actually remembered. Miki's mad because he didn't say anything to her and that Chiyako forgot and instead went to Hawaii. "She's a terrible mother!" You says that Birthdays aren't really a big deal anyway. Miki says that it IS important because it comes only once a year and that it can't just be passed up. She tells him that they are going to celebrate it tonight. He says that she shouldn't bother because they're not kids anymore. And besides, he's also afraid of her cooking. Miki yells at him because she doesn't have to cook. They can have take out. You agrees reluctantly if it makes her happy.

Miki is in the grocery store buying the food. She buys all kinds of stuff and decides to also buy a cake. But then she sees the easy bake ingredients in the store and decides that she'll bake it herself instead. She imagines making a cute cake and You complimenting her. She blushes from the thought.

At the Junk Jungle, Arimi is seen going inside to wish You a "Happy Birthday". Kijima, to her surprise tells her that You is off because he doesn't want to leave Miki alone in the house while their parents are on vacation. Arimi can't believe they were alone together all this time. She leaves before Kijima could finish his explanation about You. We last see her at the pay phone calling someone...Hmmm I wonder who that could be.

Miki is preparing the food on the table and watches the cake bake in the oven. When its done, she gets excited because the cake turned out so good. And she starts to squeal with delight. But because of that, the cake collapses and it's lopsided. That's OK, Miki says because she can just cover it up with frosting. You comes into the kitchen as she is frosting the cake. She tells him to get out because it isn't ready yet. You smiles at her because there's frosting on her face. He leaves the kitchen taking frosting out her face with his finger and eats it. Miki blushes... Later, she puts candles on the table for the finishing touch and runs upstairs to tell You that he should go down in ten minutes. Miki runs to her room and fixes herself up with lipstick and cologne. "I wonder if he'll notice."

You comes downstairs. He's surprised that it's dark. When he comes to the kitchen, he's again surprised to see Miki sitting there. He looks at everything on the table and says that it's beautiful. Miki tells him he should blow out the candles on his cake which he does. Miki asks him if the candles on the candle holders are beautiful. You says, "Yeah..." Miki looks up to see him staring at it. But somehow it seems like he's looking at her instead. She gets nervous and stands up. She tells him that she almost forgot his birthday present. You stops her and takes her hand. He says that it's OK because the dinner is already a good present. They draw close together for a kiss but before they could do it, the door bell rings.

Miki gets mad. "Who could it be at this hour?" She stomps to the door. And what do you know, it's Ginta and Arimi, also greeting You a "Happy Birthday" with party favors too. Except that Arimi accidentally popped the party favor in Miki's face.

You comes out of the kitchen and asks what the two of them are doing. Arimi says that she and Ginta were on a date and that she remembered it was his birthday so they stopped by. "We're not bothering you are we?"

Miki yells silently that they are. You tells them that it's OK and that they could come in because there was plenty of food and cake and it's too much for two people to eat alone. Miki's disappointed because the night was supposed to be just for the two of them. Ginta gets mad because You tells them both, that he and Miki were left alone together. Arimi says, "That's terrible!" Miki says that it's nothing like that. That they didn't do anything. Ginta and Arimi are still in shock. Ginta gets mad and takes You by the arm and takes him to a hallway where they could talk. Arimi wonders if she should have told Ginta that they were alone together. Ginta slams You on the wall and asks what he has done to Miki. You says, "nothing". Ginta says that if he's done "Strange things" to Miki that he's in trouble. You asks, what these 'strange things' mean and Ginta gets embarrassed. You says, "How can I answer if you don't explain what you mean? Tell me, what I can do?" Ginta is speechless. You teases him more. Ginta gets mad. "How can you be so nasty?" You smiles and says to himself that, teasing Ginta is so much fun.

Arimi and Miki are standing back to back and far apart from each other. Arimi says to herself that it's a good thing they came just in time and that Ginta was there to see it also. Miki turns to look at her and asks if she was on a date with Ginta. Arimi with a smile turns to her and says that they've been out all day and that they had A LOT of fun. Arimi turns her back to Miki again and I guess tells us that really she had just called him a while ago. Miki turns away sadly. She wonders why she feels so strange everytime she hears something about Ginta and Arimi.

The doorbell rings again and what do you know. It's Rokutanda. Arimi and Miki are both surprised. You and Ginta come out of the hallway. "Who is it this time?" They ask. They too are in shock to see Rokutanda. Rokutanda tells them that they're rude because of their tone and the look on their faces.

Ginta asks what he's doing at Miki's house. Rokutanda says that he saw him and Arimi on the train and decided to follow and noticed that they went into this house. When he looked in the window he noticed that there was a party... He yells at them for not inviting him because they all know that he loves Arimi. There's a sweatmark background behind all four of them. Miki can't believe it turned out this way because it was only for her and You. Later, all 5 of them are in the kitchen. Arimi says that the table settings are cute and that everything looks delicious. Miki is happy about it. Rokutanda declares that the cake is lopsided and both Arimi and Miki glare at him. Unconsciously, Ginta is a bit irked because Miki made a cake just for You. Miki happily gives them all drinks. Rokutanda says that they should all make a toast. They all say a congratulations to You on his birthday but Ginta still looks a little irritated. You thanks them.

After everything is eaten, Arimi says that everything was delicious. Ginta agrees. Rokutanda chimes in that she bought most of it. Ginta and Arimi glare at him. You says that they should eat the cake now. Miki agrees and tells You to to get the plates and forks. Rokutanda wonders why You knew where everything is in the kitchen if it's Miki's house. You tells him that if he saw the name plates outside, he lives there too.

Rokutanda is surprised. "What? Does this mean that you two are shacking up?" Ginta and Arimi both take a punch at him. They tell him that their parents live with them too. "So two families are living together. Are you guys related?" He asks.

You tells him that it's too hard to explain and that he should ask Ginta. Ginta says he doesn't want to take the trouble to explain. Arimi says that it's none of his business anyway. The three argue. Miki stops the commotion by suggesting that they should play cards. She goes to her room and looks for it. To her surprise, Ginta comes in. "Is this your room? It looks very feminine.."

Miki gets really embarrassed and takes him outside. She says that he shouldn't go in without permission.

Ginta: Don't be like that. It's just a room.
Miki: It's embarrassing. My room's a mess.
Ginta: Matsuura
Miki: What?
Ginta: Has Matsuura been in your room?
Miki: Well he's part of the family. Sometimes he has.
Ginta: Are you wearing perfume?
Miki: No, it's not perfume. It's the cologne that Chiyako-san gave me.
Ginta: Is it for Matsuura? I'm coming in. Get out of my way! (He tries to get into Miki's room again)
Miki: (Gets him away) What do you think you're doing? You should ask to see Arimi-san's room.
Ginta: There's nothing between us.
Miki: It can't be. You're always out with her
Ginta: If you said not see her anymore, I wouldn't. If you choose me, I won't see her anymore. But if you can't say that, I'll give up on you and go out with her. It's up to you....
