Episode 5: Koibito No Densetsu. Medaiyo Ni Omoi Wokomete

"Legendary Girlfriend: Making A Wish On the Medallion"

Still at the gate, Miki and Ginta are talking. Ginta squeezes her wrist, his temper rising, and asks Miki, "Is he better than me? Don't You care about me anymore?"

You then comes out of the house and tells them they're loud and that everyone could hear them. Miki quickly runs to the house with Ginta calling out for her. "I don't think that the way you dumped Mikiwas all that bad," You says to Ginta after Miki is inside. "You couldn't say how you felt with your friends interested in Miki too. I understand. I understand."

Ginta gets really mad because You was listening in on their conversation. "Damn You make me sick!" Ginta says.

You turns around and tells Ginta dryly that he's not worth his time.

Ginta gets more pissed of course and yells again. "Who died and made you boss? This is Miki's house."

You turns to go inside the house and but tells Ginta that he lives there too because of their parents. Ginta yells even more, he couldn't believe it.

Later on in the day... Miki gets out of her room and sees You drying his hair. "Oh you took your bath already..." she says.
You: (With a quirky smile) Oh, Did you want to take a bath together?
Miki:(Yells at him insurprise) BAKA!
You starts to laugh as he walk away.
Miki:(Thinking) You didn't say anything about what happened earlier...Is it no big deal to him?"

At school, Miki sees Ginta but she still couldn't face him after everything thats happened. She talks to Meiko in the school's gazebo about the whole situation. Miki: What should I do? Ginta is my friend and I like him. But I don't want to think of him as a boyfirend...After all, he's the one that made me feel this way. I don't know why he's acting so different..."
Meiko: And Matsuura is mixed up in this too. You're thinking of having him as your boyfirned, right?
Miki: No..Not at all.
Meiko: Really?
Miki: I do't know...You Might be right.

Meiko asks who she'll choose, but Miki says she doesn't know. Meiko suggests that she should tell Ginta that she needs more time to think things through. Miki agrees and when she does tell Ginta, he says that he will wait for her answer.

While walking with Meiko after school, Miki is still worried. Miki: I have to think clearly. Ginta or You? Which do I like best? Right now, I'm not sure that I like either one...
Meiko tells her that she shouldn't worry so much. She also asks which kiss Miki liked the best. Miki gets embarassed and mad. "Don't say strange things like that. I didn't enjoy either one. Both of them ignored my feelings.... "

You calls out for them then. He was putting table cloth on the tables that was outside a store named, "Junk Jungle." Miki and Meiko come inside and visit him and they meet You's boss, Kijima Takuji. The four of them start to talk and Miki tells them about the story of Toryo's medallion. That if you put a picture of the person you love inside, you'll fall in love. You says that Na-chan, gave him one earlier and that he doesn't believe all that junk about love. But Kijima tells them a story about his days in Toryo...

Kijima: It's a story of a girl I know...She put his photo in her medallion and always carried it with her. But she was so bashful that she couldn't tell him how she felt. Because of his family, he had to move to another country. She decided to put the medallion in his bag so he'd know someone cared. Because she was so shy, she didn't tell her name, After he left on the trip, she lost track of him. For a long time, she thought about him. All the time, there were a lot of men interested in her but she turned them all down. Ten years later she was working as a tour guide in New York. At the time, he was visiting N.Y. Miraculously, he ran into her. For some reason, he'd been carrying that medallion for ten years."

Miki and Meiko thought it was a wonderful story but You was skeptical. "That's just too perfect a story."
Kijima walks away: Is it?
You: What did he mean by "Is it?"
Then Meiko points out a photo on the wall. It's a picture of Kijima and "the girl" in N.Y.

The next day, Miki watches Ginta practice tennis and wonders if he's working hard because of the tournament. Ginta hears the news that one of the members of the team broke his arm and it was him that Namura-Sensei intended to be paired up with Ginta in the tournament. When Miki hears that, she tells Na-chan that You could take his place. Namura makes You play against him and to everyone's surprise, You beat the tennis coach. You tells Miki that he only agreed to play because of her.

Ginta calls over to You and he tells him that he doesn't really want to pair up with him.
You: Ah, so...
Ginta: But there's no other way. We can't lose. I absolutely don't want to lose to him. No matter how unpleasant it is to play with you...But since you agreed to play...
Ginta looks back at Miki and Miki turns away blushing. "Oh no, I don't want to see him right now." Miki runs, and in her mind, tells Ginta that she is sorry because she doesn't want to hurt his feelings. Ever since he said he loved her, she doesn't know how to face him.

Ginta watches her run. He didn't expect Miki to react the way she did and rejects telling her that he loves her. "I wouldn't have told her if I'd known things would be so different." Ginta is frustrated. "DAMN!" he yells. "I might as well practice." He calls out for You but the other kids tell him that he already left. Ginta is mad that You ran away, so he searches for You around the school, screaming his name.

You is hiding in the library...He listens to the screaming Ginta... "No way," he says to himself. "I'm not spending my free time with you..." He then hears a voice...

"It's Ok, nobody's here...Only the two of us are here....I love you..."

You is surprised. Who could it be? He looks at them behind a book case. It's Meiko and Namura and he watches them kiss! He's shocked.
