Doris is similar to Anju. She's a very nice girl who is quiet and understanding. She doesn't talk as much as the other Americans and sometimes is left in the background. But she's always there for Jinny and for everyone else.

It was very evident earlier on that Doris was interested in Brian but kept it to herself because she could see that he was interested in her friend instead. Doris is probably the least developed out of all the teenagers and there's nothing much to decribe her other than what is said above. She did however, find the confidence to tell Brian how she felt about him.

Doris is cool. If Michael was the "ugly American" well Doris is the opposite. She's pretty in that simple sort of way, although she looks a little older than her suppoused 17, 18 years of age because of the way she was drawn. The animators even gave her freckles just around her nose which I thought was pretty cute.

Like all the other Americans she can also speak perfect Japanese. What a surprise.
