The story of the Toryo medallion is a legend, I suppose in Toryo High School (This story is only in the Anime however). Every student gets
one as soon as they enter the high-school and as the story goes, if you put a picture of someone
you love inside, that someone will eventually fall in love with you. And when it happens, you exchange
medallions.
This was explained more by You's boss, Kijima Takuji who told Miki, You, and Meiko, the story of him
and his wife Rei. That because of the power of the medallion, they were able to meet again by chance
in New York, years later.
So whose picture is inside those medallions a.k.a. lockets that all
those Toryo students carry?
Miki: At first it was her parents picture inside but when she and
You became boyfriend and girlfriend, it was a picture of her and You.
You: Although,
he didn't believe any of the legend's story at first he did eventually gave into it. He put the same
picture of him and Miki together inside his medallion and they exchanged it. Kei and Suzu both got a
liitle peek inside their medallions.
Ginta: In the beginning when he was still pining for Miki's
love, he had her picture inside. It was really sad when he showed it too. I'm pretty sure it's Arimi's
picture inside now ^_^.
Meiko: Well, who else's picture but her beloved Shinichi would be inside
her medallion?
Kei: OK, Kei doesn't really count but he did keep Miki's medallion for awhile (or
rather You's medallion) when she dropped it inside Bobson's ice cream feezer. He gave it back of course,
after Miki asked for it.
Rei: Well, her story was explained in Takuji's story. Her medallion,
in high school, had Takuji's picture inside and she put it in his school bag before he left for America.
