Ginta and Arimi

"If Every Word I said, could make you laugh, I'd talk forever... I asked the sky, just what we had, hmm, it showed forever.. Forever, my love.."
"Never kiss another girl" ~Arimi
"I'll never do it... Only You Arimi..."~Ginta

Ginta and Arimi are my favorite couple throughout the whole series, except that they only take second in popularity to Miki and You.

I love them because as I said in Ginta's profile, their relationship is the only one that seems realistic and believable. It wasn't love at first sight for them and it wasn't predetermined that they just have to be together... their feelings grew for each other instead.

Both of them were in love with other people and in order for them to get back the ones that they really love, they teamed up and pretended to have a relationship, so Miki would get jealous and take back Ginta while Arimi could take back You.

It worked for a while but Ginta relented and told Miki that it was just a scheme Arimi thought up to make her jealous. Arimi however did not want to give up so easily because she felt Miki wasn't deserving of You. And it wasn' t because she thought Miki wasn't "Beautiful" enough or anything like that. It was because she just didn't understand how Miki can play around with the hearts of two guys and not even understand how hurt they must feel.

Of course, Arimi too gave in eventually and she and Ginta were always supporting each other. Like in the beach where Satoshi somehow managed to get them paired up and during another tennis meet at Segaki where Arimi was practicing track. She told Ginta that she just couldn't get over the fact, that though she poured her true feelings out to You, he didn't return it for her. Ginta tried to support her by putting his arm around her shoulder but he was so afraid and shy to do it. The expression on his face was so funny.

Whenever they are shown together, there's always that "awww" moment there and there's absolutely no doubt that the two love each other very much and they show it in very simple and subtle ways. The Valentine's Day episode and the episode where they were going to Toryo's seminar prove that point so well. It's so very romantic and yes, mushy too.

My favorite moment was when Ginta told Arimi with so much emotion that she was the most important person in the world to him and Arimi started to cry and they kiss. Every time they're together you almost always have to smile.

If their relationship was strong before, after the Miki incident, it became even stronger.

Their relationship in the Manga is the same but a bit more cute and sweet. I don't think the manga version of Ginta would ever have left Arimi like that because he thought Miki needed him more. Ginta was very true to Arimi.

Their last scene together was when Miki told them that she and You had broken up. Both of them were shocked but as soon as Miki left them alone, Ginta gathered Arimi in his arms and told her that THEY'LL always be together. "Let's always be together..." He says. And Arimi, closing her eyes said, "Yes..."
